Eduardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle was a Chilean politician and civil engineer. A member of the Christian Democratic Party, he served as President of Chile, from 11 March, 1994 to 11 March, 2000, among other duties.

President Ruiz-Tagle is the son of María Ruiz-Tagle Jiménez and Eduardo Frei Montalva (Eduardo Nicanor Frei Montalva), who also served as President of Chile, from 3 November, 1964 to 3 November, 1970. His sister is politician and teacher Carmen Frei. He is married to social orientator and politician Marta Larraechea, with whom he has four children.
