When it comes to photography, most of my friends know me as a nature and sport photographer, but once in a while it is nice to branch out to other forms of photography. This time it became concert photography at the Sónar music festival in Reykjavik.
Sónar is an annual electronic music event held in Reykjavik among other places around the world, branching from the original Sónar event in Barcelona, Spain.
Taking pictures at events like this is to me a thrilling experience. With excited (and drunk) people and blasting music from good artists, the energy from the surroundings easily infect my own behavior. During concerts I can be found dancing to the music, by myself, in the photography pit between the bands and audience. I enter my happy stage when I know I get the shots I wanted. Shooting concert images can be challenging, with changing light conditions and strong strobes, it forces you to constantly change settings on the camera. This is more of a creative challenge as you have to play with the rules that the environment presents to you.
Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy the picture as much as I enjoyed taking them!
