Landssamtök íslenskra stúdenta (LÍS) held their annual congress this weekend at the Bifröst University. LÍS is the national umbrella unity for student parliaments at the universities around Iceland. It is a fairly new organization, starting in 2013, to front the common needs for students in Iceland. This is so the universities can focus on local challenges, while LÍS focus on the national level challenges and common student voice for Iceland.
At the annual congress, the members agree to a common platform of how to operate and what to focus on. Davíð Erik Mollberg was elected as chairman to carry on where the former chairman, Nanna Elísa Jakobsdóttir, took off.
