Inga is the daughter of actors and directors Maja Ardal and Jeff Braunstein. She has a brother, Paul, who is also an actor. Her father was born in Cairo, Egypt, to a Jewish family of Ashkenazi and Sephardi descent. Her mother was born in Siglufjörður, Iceland, and raised in Scotland.
