Eddie Collins was an American professional baseball player, manager, and executive. He was a second baseman with the Philadelphia Athletics, the Chicago White Sox, and the Philadelphia Athletics of Major League Baseball (MLB), and managed the Chicago White Sox. He was nicknamed “Cocky.”

Eddie was the son of Mary/Mart Mead (Trowbridge) and John Rossman Collins. His son was professional baseball player Eddie Collins, Jr.

Eddie’s maternal grandfather was Perry Clark Trowbridge (the son of Alexander Walstein Trowbridge and Sarah Clark). Alexander was the son of Stephen Trowbridge and Elizabeth Barnum. Sarah was the daughter of Douglass/Douglas Clark and Sarah/Sally Collin.
